For OpenArt 2023, PINKPARADISE is setting out with a UFO. The 5 artists, - ARTonauts from the alien galaxies of contemporary art, land with a UFO full of art treasures, far away from their home galaxy, in front of the Architekturgalerie München to infect the local population with their art. The aim of the action is "superspreading events" with maximum contagion. Contemporary art goes viral! The UFO PINKPARADISE is a sculpture developed by the artists with an exhibition function. Six cubes in a hexagonal construction painted bright pink, equipped with landing feet and a dome suddenly stand, - after landing at night, as unknown object on earth.
The small portholes on the side of the object, from which faint pulsating light in changing colours penetrates to the outside, increase curiosity. Magically attracted, you approach to finally be able to cautiously take a look inside the UFO: There, a first work of art reveals itself and makes you want to inspect further. With each glimpse through one of the portholes, a new exhibition space opens up with a treasure trove of art and takes you into the distant galaxies of PINKPARADISE.
The artists, Rudolf Finisterre, Martl Fritzsche, Christian Hess, Peter Pohl and Hannes Stellner, got together in 2020 in the offspace of an old paint shop in Rosenheim for their first exhibition under the pseudonym and working title PINKPARADISE. For them, PINKPARADISE is a metaphor, an imaginary place of longing, an attitude of "spinning beyond" conventions, constraints, realities - of expanding the net to create new realities and encounters. For the past two years, they have been inventing ways to encounter and engage with contemporary art in a low-threshold way through joint projects in public spaces.
