The Dutch architecture firm MVRDV is curating the architecture magazine BAUMEISTER in July. In the guest curated Baumeister issue, the Dutch architectural office looked at Germany and asked: What is typically German? And why? The roots of MVRDV are closely intertwined with Germany. Winy Maas, Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries founded MVRDV when they jointly developed a design for the Europan 2 competition - and won the competition with "Berlin Voids". MVRDV had its first brilliant appearance in Germany with its design for the Dutch pavilion at the World Expo in Hanover. It was only last year that the office realized Werk 12 in Munich's creative quarter.
Time to find answers to the question of what is typically German. And where, if not in downtown Munich, can this question be better answered? Let us look at Germany from the bunker and find answers to these questions together with Winy Maas, Jan Knikker, Cornelia Hellstern and Javier Arpa Fernández.
At 7 p.m. we will meet on the forecourt of the architectural bunker for an open discussion and a corona-compliant apero from the small bottle. Please register via the link. In this way we can ensure that we can keep to the maximum permitted number of guests for outdoor events.
